The Greater Clark County School Board voted to accept a $500,000 donation from the John H. Schnatter Family Foundation to renovate the school’s baseball stadium on October 15, 2019. The renovation is scheduled to be completed by the first game on the 2020 varsity baseball schedule on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.
John H. Schnatter says, “To affect change you have to be willing to do better by raising your standards and overcoming the barriers that limit your potential. When I played baseball for the Jeffersonville High School Red Devils we raised our standards and removed the barriers that limited our potential. It is my hope that the John H. Schnatter Stadium will help this generation and future generations remove the barriers and that hold them back so that they can reach their full potential and be better.”
Principal Julie Straight says, “John Schnatter set high expectations for himself as a student-athlete while he was at Jeffersonville High School. This gift from the John H. Schnatter Family Foundation will inspire current and future Jeff High Red Devils to set goals and achieve their dreams. We are grateful for John’s continued generosity for his alma mater.”
